The Miami Dolphins have confirmed that they have promoted Dan Campbell to become their interim head coach to replace Joe Philbin.
Philbin was fired by the Dolphins following their third straight defeat of the season as they succumbed to 27-14 loss to the New York Jets at Wembley Stadium.
Campbell has been elevated from his position of tight ends coach to replace the 54-year-old for the rest of the season, and he is confident that the club can get their campaign back on track to challenge for a playoff place.
He told reporters: "This is my sixth season being with the Miami Dolphins and this is the most talented roster we've had in those six years. We have plenty of talent. We have the people in this building. We have the staff, okay.
"There may be some things that have to be moved or shuffled as far as that goes, but I need to sort those things out, but we have enough to win. We have to change the culture. I have to change the culture and that's what I intend to do."
Philbin posted a 24-28 record in his four seasons with the Dolphins.
