Miami Dolphins 'agree deal to sign Ndamukong Suh'

A report claims that the Miami Dolphins have struck a long-term deal with Ndamukong Suh which could be worth up to £75.3m for the defensive tackle.

The Miami Dolphins are poised to sign Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh when free agency begins on Tuesday, according to a report.

The 28-year-old spent five seasons with the Lions after being selected with the second-overall pick in the 2010 Draft, becoming an integral part of their defense and receiving four All-Pro berths.

However, the club and Suh's representatives were not able to reach an agreement before the legal tampering period began, which allowed the player to discuss terms with the other 31 teams in the NFL.

The Dolphins have secured a deal with Suh, despite the best efforts of the Lions to retain his services, as the AFC East side are prepared to pay him $114m (£75.3m) in a long-term contract, with $60m (£39.6m) of the deal guaranteed, reports ESPN.

The 28-year-old recorded 239 tackles, 36 sacks and one interception in his five years with the Lions.
