Former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Cris Carter has paid tribute to the Pro Football Hall of Fame selection committee following his induction on Saturday.

Carter had been nominated for enshrinement five times before finally being accepted into the class of 2013 alongside the likes of Warren Sapp, Larry Allen, Bill Purcells, Curley Culp, Jonathan Ogden and Dave Robinson.

However, the 47-year-old bears no grudges against the committee, instead highlighting how good a job they are doing every year.

"I think they have the right people [on the committee], I really do," Carter told reporters. "It's an unbelievably tough process. And there ain't no bums in the Hall.

"I mean, they're putting in great players every year. The selection committee they have, I believe, is the right selection of people."

Carter scored 130 touchdowns in a 15-year career and was named in the 1990s NFL Team of the Decade.
