Minnesota Vikings release linebacker Erin Henderson

The Minnesota Vikings decide to release linebacker Erin Henderson.

The Minnesota Vikings have decided to release linebacker Erin Henderson, who has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of drink driving twice since November of last year.

Henderson had originally operated as Minnesota's middle linebacker at the start of the season, but lost his long-term place to Audie Cole, who was injured in the latter stages of the season leaving Henderson with another chance to fill in for the team.

The linebacker had managed to recover from his high-profile incidents, with Vikings coach Leslie Frazier suggesting that Henderson could have a promising career as a wider, outside player.

However, the Vikings have made the decision to release the player today, which will now free up a salary spot of $2m (£1.2m) for the coming NFL season.
