Tom Coughlin: 'Jason Pierre-Paul recovering well'

New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin is pleased with how Jason Pierre-Paul's recovery is going.

New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin has revealed that defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is doing some good gym work on his road to recovery.

Having undergone back surgery in June Pierre-Paul is still not back in full practice, but Coughlin is encouraged by the player's progress.

"He worked well [on Thursday]," the New York Daily News quotes Coughlin as saying. "He ran well, He worked in the weight room.

"He's sore today, probably because he hasn't been running. He's not ready to come out two days in a row and do what he did [on Thursday], but I'm encouraged by what he did."

Pierre-Paul managed 66 combined tackles in 15 starts for the Giants last season.
