New Oakland Raiders running back Maurice Jones-Drew believes that quarterback Matt Schaub is capable of leading the team to the playoffs and beyond.
Jones-Drew joined the Raiders from the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, following in the footsteps of Schaub, who signed from the Houston Texans the week before.
Schaub lost his place in the Texans side last year after a number of poor displays saw him hold the NFL record for most consecutive games featuring a pick-six.
Despite that, Jones-Drew said of his new teammate: "You can definitely make the Super Bowl with Matt Schaub at quarterback.
"He has something to prove this year, and for that reason I know Matt Schaub is a guy who can lead us."
Jones-Drew ran for 803 yards and five touchdowns for the Jaguars in the 2013 season, and he also admitted that he rejected both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots in order to join Raiders.
