Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has stated that he only left Wednesday's practice session early as a precaution, after suffering a hamstring strain.
Maclin felt the problem and pulled himself out of the session, having just caught a 50-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Nick Foles.
The Eagles face the New England Patriots in their next preseason game on Friday, and Maclin has admitted that he is hopeful of taking part.
He told reporters: "It's precautionary. My left hamstring grabbed on me a little bit so I shut it down.
"It grabbed on me and I knew I wasn't going to practice for the rest of the day. So I was just a little upset from that aspect.
"I just want to go out there and compete. It feels all right. I'm just going to treat it and go from there but it shouldn't be a big deal."
Maclin suffered an ACL tear in pre-season practice last year, resulting in him missing the entire 2013 campaign.
