The agent of Philadelphia Eagles guard Evan Mathis has denied that the Miami Dolphins were close to agreeing a trade for his client ahead of this year's Draft.
The offensive lineman has been linked with a move away from the team for the last two off-seasons, but remains on Chip Kelly's roster.
Drew Rosenhaus told CBS Miami: "I've been given permission by the Eagles to shop Evan. We thought we had a trade with another team leading up to the draft. It was not the Dolphins.
"It kind of fell through based on what the team did in the draft, but right now it doesn't appear the Dolphins are a strong possibility. We've never really gotten close on a trade with the Dolphins."
Mathis has reached the Pro Bowl for the last two years.
