Ben Roethlisberger still sore after hit

Pittsburgh Steelers star Ben Roethlisberger concedes that the hit he suffered from Courtney Upshaw on Thursday night was one of the hardest in his career.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has revealed that he is still feeling the effects of the sack he suffered by Baltimore Ravens linebacker Courtney Upshaw.

Speaking on his weekly radio show on Tuesday, Roethlisberger conceded that he is "still very sore" after revealing he lost his breath instantly after the hit and didn't see Upshaw coming.

"I'm hurting today as much as I was at any point I can think of in the last year," Roethlisberger said on The Fan in Pittsburgh radio show.

Upshaw received a 15-yard penalty for roughing the passer as a result of his hit, with Roethlisberger completing just 22 of 37 passes for 217 yards and an interception in the loss.

Pittsburgh are 1-1 after their week one win over the Cleveland Browns and face the Carolina Panthers on the road on Sunday.
