San Diego Chargers defensive coordinator John Pagano has admitted that his preparation for Monday's clash against Oakland Raiders will concern how to stop quarterback Terrelle Pryor.
Although the Raiders have lost three of their four games so far, Pagano said that Pryor has the quality to win a game on his own should a defense let him play his own game.
"We tell [Charlie Whitehurst in practice] in certain situations that he's going to have to scramble around," Pagano told the club's official website. "That's where Pryor's game is at a very high level.
"When he's moving out of the pocket, his completion percentage even gets higher and it shows with his athletic ability. We've got to do a great job of that. It's been something that we've been emphasizing, not only this week, but the past couple weeks of being able to handle the running quarterback.
"That's going to be a big challenge for us. Whether he stays in the pocket or he moves out of it, we've got to make sure we get him down when we have the opportunity."
Pagano became the Chargers' defensive coordinator at the start of last season.
