San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York has insisted that he will let "due process" take its course before deciding on whether or not to discipline defensive tackle Ray McDonald.
The 49ers star was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence last week but the franchise will wait until all the evidence is collected and the police investigation is concluded.
York says that he will not punish McDonald until he sees "evidence something should be done or until an entire police investigation shows us something," KNBR Radio reports.
The matter comes amid mounting pressure after the Baltimore Ravens released running back Ray Rice after new video footage was released of his assault on his wife, while the NFL suspended him indefinitely.
