Kansas City Chiefs make it five wins in a row

The Kansas City Chiefs make it five wins on the trot with a 24-20 victory over reigning champions the Seattle Seahawks.

The Kansas City Chiefs have edged to their fifth consecutive victory courtesy of a 24-20 win over the Seattle Seahawks at Arrowhead Stadium this evening.

The only score of the opening quarter went the way of the hosts as Alex Smith tossed a short hand-off to Jamaal Charles, who ran around the defence and into the corner of the endzone.

The Seahawks levelled things up again in the second when Russell Wilson took his time to pick out Doug Baldwin at the back of the endzone for a seven-yard score.

However, Charles came up with another rushing touchdown shortly afterwards, this time finding a gap and racing in for a 16-yard score to restore his side's advantage.

Seattle began chipping away at the lead during the final two minutes of the first half, with Steven Hauschka knocking over a couple of field goals to make it a one-point game at the break.

The Chiefs responded with a field goal of their own midway through the third quarter, Cairo Santos splitting the uprights from 23 yards.

The reigning champions took the lead for the first time in the match during the closing seconds of the third as Wilson looped a pass over to former Chief Tony Moeaki for a one-yard score.

Kansas City were back in front early in the fourth quarter, however, as Knile Davis ran in from four yards for the hosts' third rushing touchdown of the match.

The Seahawks piled the pressure on the Chiefs defence late on, but the hosts held firm and hung on to their lead to move to 7-3 for the season.
