Greg Olsen's late touchdown ensured that the Carolina Panthers came from behind to defeat the Seattle Seahawks 27-23 in the NFL this evening, sending Pete Carroll's men to 2-4 after six games of the new season.
The Panthers started brightly as they aimed to continue their unbeaten run and they had some impressive movement from newcomer Ryan Delaire to be excited about in the first quarter.
Cam Newton did not have the best of starts, however, and he soon went on to make a major mistake with his pick out to Jerricho Cotchery, before the Seahawks managed to move into a small lead thanks to Steven Hauschka's 30-yard field goal.
Newton soon made amends for some sloppy play in the first after he came back early in the second to complete a two-yard run, allowing Graham Gano to kick the Panthers into a 7-3 lead.
Carolina had not accounted for the returning Marshawn Lynch, though, who was able to add the icing to a 90-yard drive by producing a one-yard rush to clinch his first touchdown of the season and push his team in front at 10-7 come the interval.
Seattle began the second half in impressive fashion and they were able to grab a second touchdown courtesy of Ricardo Lockette, who caught hold of Russell Wilson's 40-yarder to round off some neat work off four plays.
Hauschka was back in the action too not long after as he collected another field goal, but the Panthers showed some fighting spirit when Jonathan Stewart snatched a one-yard rush to bring Carolina back in contention at 20-14.
With just a touchdown potentially deciding the contest, Hauschka gave the Hawks a slither of breathing space early in the final period with another kick that registered at 43 yards.
The extra points seemed important given that Stewart came back again to record his second touchdown for the visitors with another short rush moving things to 23-20.
That score left the game on a knife's edge and it was the Panthers who were to pounce in the dying embers, when Olsen ran home with 32 seconds to spare to meet Newton's 26-yarder and steal a late victory for the visitors at CenturyLink Field.
