Dr James Andrews has insisted that he has "no concerns" over the fitness of Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III.
Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan revealed that the 23-year-old had been cleared to play by Andrews following his recovery from knee surgery in the off-season.
However, Shanahan admitted that Andrews said has he doubts over whether Griffin was returning to action too soon.
Andrews told The Washington Post: "None of it is true. No concerns."
Washington open their regular season campaign on September 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
