Sally Pearson 'relieved' at hurdles gold

Australia's new 100m hurdles gold medallist Sally Pearson says that the first thing she felt after winning was relief.

Olympic 100m hurdles champion Sally Pearson has said that she was relieved to win gold this evening.

The Australian was hot favourite for the title and came through in an Olympic record of 12.35s ahead of American duo Dawn Harper and Kellie Wells, who both ran personal bests.

Speaking to BBC Sport afterwards, Pearson, 25, said: "I don't even know how to describe [the gold medal], it's like a dream.

"I am feeling relief, that's the first thing I felt."

Pearson adds the Olympic title to her World Championship crown from last year.
