Team England 200m runner Danny Talbot has insisted that he can go "a lot faster" than his current personal best at the Commonwealth Games.
Talbot cruised into the semi-finals at Hampden Park this morning, winning his heat in a time of 20.56s to comfortably make the last four.
The 23-year-old ran at nowhere near full steam, yet he still managed to finished just 0.2s off his personal best, making him confident that he can set a new benchmark this summer in Glasgow.
"I've been around my PB a lot this season in different conditions, mainly into headwind, so I feel that if the conditions are good I should get a lot faster than my PB," Talbot told Sports Mole.
"But, now we're at the championships, times don't really matter, it's just trying to get through the semi-finals tomorrow and then take it one step at a time."
The men's 200m final takes place at 9.10pm tomorrow night.
