Glasgow 2014 chief executive David Grevemberg has revealed that around 58,000 tickets for the Commonwealth Games are yet to be sold, just one day before the competition gets underway.
The organisers have revealed that badminton and weightlifting preliminaries are among the sessions that still have tickets remaining.
Over 1.1 million tickets have been sold, with just three per cent of the sales being snapped up by countries outside of Great Britain.
The Games, which will officially begin after tonight's Opening Ceremony at Celtic Park, has attracted 57% of its visitors from Scotland, while 40% of tickets have so far been sold across the rest of the UK.
Grevemberg told reporters: "We sold over 1.1 million tickets, which is brilliant and I think one of the numbers that was made publicly recently is that we were about 95% of the way there and that number, obviously, continues to improve and so forth.
"For the Opening Ceremony there are a few tickets left, but as we keep encouraging everyone to keep checking, get out there and don't miss this opportunity.
"Across the UK we had about 40% of our tickets came outside of Scotland, within the UK and about three per cent of our initial push was further abroad and further afield and that fluctuates and continues to improve."
Meanwhile, organisers have confirmed that the victims of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crash will be honoured in a tribute during this evening's ceremony.
