Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce retained her 100m Olympic title in London this evening.
The Jamaican sprinter got off to a slow start and looked to have handed the initiative to her main rival Carmelita Jeter.
However, at the midway stage Fraser-Pryce powered through to the front and crossed the line ahead of the field in a time of 10.75 seconds.
Jeter took the silver medal with a time of 10.78 seconds, which is the quickest that she has run all year.
Another Jamaican, Veronica Campbell-Brown, claimed the bronze.
