Olympic champion Usain Bolt believes that he is good enough to "make a difference" as a player at Manchester United.

Usain Bolt has claimed that he "could make a difference" if he was given a trial at Manchester United.

The Jamaican sprinter, who defended his 100m Olympic title on Sunday, is confident that he has the ability to impress Sir Alex Ferguson if given the chance at Old Trafford.

Bolt told The Sun: "People think I am joking. But if Alex Ferguson called me up and said, 'OK let's do this, come and have a trial', it would be impossible for me to say no.

"I would not take up the challenge if I didn't think I was good enough. I am a very accomplished player and know I could make a difference.

"I am in Britain for a few more days. If Alex Ferguson wants to give me a call he knows where I am."

Bolt declared himself "the greatest" after his triumph on Sunday evening.
