Great Britain's Jessica Ennis clocked a personal best time of 12.75 seconds over 100m hurdles at the Great CityGames in Manchester this afternoon.
However, the heptathlete was denied the record after organisers had accidentally set out nine hurdles, rather than the regulatory ten.
"I am so annoyed. I still had a good competitive race, but I've just not got the result I wanted," said Ennis.
"I can't believe that. It's a great event but that's a massive, massive mess up."
The time was 0.04 seconds faster than her previous best.
