Tiffany Porter: 'Winning gold at European Championships is special'

Tiffany Porter says that winning her first ever gold medal is "very special", after clocking up a time of 12.79s in the women's 100m hurdles at the European Championships.

Great Britain's Tiffany Porter has admitted that she is "thrilled" to have won her first ever gold medal.

The 26-year-old held off Cindy Billaud of France to come out on top in the women's 100m hurdles at the European Championships yesterday, with a time of 12.79s in Zurich.

"This is very special, I'd not won gold before so I'm thrilled to finally get one," Porter told BBC Sport. "When you see your teammates doing so well it really spurs you on in your event. It's very satisfying to win."

James Dasaolu and Mo Farah also won gold last night for Team GB.
