Jessica Ennis has admitted that her Olympic disappointment four years ago has made her appreciate the upcoming Games even more.
Ennis suffered three stress fractures in her right foot in 2008, causing her to miss the Olympics in Beijing.
However, the Team GB heptathlete, who is one of Britain's brightest gold medal hopes, is using the disappointment to ensure that she appreciates this year's Games even more.
"I do think about that time and how I felt and it makes me appreciate this moment even more," Ennis told Sky Sports News.
"It makes me really appreciate the position that I'm in and how things are going. I'm having the time of my life and I'm trying to make the most of it, enjoy it and do the best I can."
Ennis has already said that, due to the expectation on her shoulders, anything less than a gold medal in London would be viewed as a failure.
