Team GB's Perri Shakes-Drayton came through her heat in London's Olympic Stadium to secure a place in the semi-finals of the women's 400m hurdles this evening.
Running in lane three, the 23-year-old was quick out of the blocks and was soon gaining ground on her fellow competitors.
With 200m remaining she hit the front and continued to accelerate away from the rest of the field, before eventually easing up in the closing stages to win the heat in a time of 54.62 seconds.
Defending champion Melanie Walker ended up in the runners-up spot, while Hanna Yaroshchuk and Hayat Lambarki also qualified.
