British javelin thrower Goldie Sayers has indicated that she will use her lottery funding snub as motivation for next season.
Sayers, who captained Team GB at this summer's European Championship, was a notable absentee when the lists were revealed on Monday, but the 11-time national champion has insisted that she remains committed to the sport.
The 32-year-old told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "It's a great opportunity to prove the selectors wrong.
"I'm not bitter about it. I'm focused on turning it around. I've got my team who have faith in me and I'd rather work with people who have faith in me."
Sayers has undergone multiple surgeries since London 2012 but she hopes to return to competition in March.
