Zharnel Hughes has recorded the fastest time in the qualifying rounds for the 200m final at the British Championships.
Last month, Anguilla-born Hughes was one of five athletes granted permission to switch allegiances to Great Britain, something which created widespread debate among British athletics.
In his first appearance on British soil, Hughes won his heat in a time of 20.55s, almost a fifth of a second faster than the other two heat winners.
The 19-year-old told BBC WM: "I'm just focusing on executing my race. I know what I came out here to do, which is use my talent to the best of my ability. I want to stay focused and do the best I can."
If Hughes can win Saturday's final, he will represent Team GB at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing later this summer.
