James Ellington has insisted that Great Britain's 4x100m men's relay team can go faster after they posted a season-best time in qualifying for the final at the World Athletics Championships.
Ellington, Richard Kilty, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Danny Talbot got the baton around in 38.20s, finishing just behind the USA in their heat.
The 29-year-old told British Athletics' website: "The main thing was just to get through safely. I think all of us were just being a bit too cautious. I know I waited until Harry was on his check mark before I went and probably the same for these guys.
"Mine and Danny's change could have been a bit quicker, we were coming around at the same time and it could have been a bit quicker. We're going to push it to the limits in the final."
Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago were the only other sides to go faster than the British quartet.
