Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill has admitted that it is "depressing" to read about the allegations directed at her fellow athletes.
Accusations of widespread doping has been the big story heading into the World Championships in Beijing, and Ennis-Hill believes that more steps must be taken to eradicate drug cheats due to the impact the saga has had on clean athletes.
"It is hard, it is depressing and it is really sad to read but there are so many highlights of our sport," the 29-year-old revealed to BBC Sport.
"We have to address all the awful things that are happening and make sure we make a change but we also need to highlight the amazing performance of the athletes who train really hard and do true performances."
Ennis-Hill begins her heptathlon bid in Beijing on Saturday.
