Boston Celtics president: 'We didn't overspend in NBA Draft'

The Boston Celtics got the players they wanted in the NBA Draft last night, according to president Danny Ainge.

Boston Celtics president Danny Ainge has insisted that he is happy with how his team got on in the Draft last night.

The team traded away their two first-round picks, and then selected Jordan Mickey and Marcus Thornton in the second round.

Aigne admits that he offered a trade deal to the Charlotte Hornets, but is relieved they turned him down.

He told radio station The Sports Hub: "In hindsight, the next day, it's probably a good thing. We were probably going to spend too much to do what we needed to do.

"This morning I woke up and I'm refreshed that we got guys that we like, but also that we didn't overspend for some of the players that were in the Draft; actually just basically one player we were chasing."

The Celtics finished eighth in the Eastern Conference last season, but lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the quarter-finals.
