Paul George finding inactivity 'tough' following compound fracture

Injured Indiana Pacers star Paul George is finding it 'tough' not being able to partake in an active routine as he bids to recover from a compound fracture.

Indiana Pacers forward Paul George has said that he is finding it tough not being able to partake in physical activity after undergoing surgery on a compound fracture in his right leg.

George was horrifically injured while on duty with the USA's national basketball team and will now be expected to miss the coming NBA season as he recovers.

"All I can do at this point is sleep, watch TV and lay down, so it's tough for me. I'm used to being active, lifting weights, being in the gym," George told reporters at a news conference.

"At the same time, I want to be part of this team. The last thing I want to do is feel like I'm not part of this team because I'm out."

The next NBA season is due to get underway on October 28.
