New York Knicks president Phil Jackson has been fined by the NBA for declaring an interest in appointing Derek Fisher as the team's new head coach.
Jackson suggested last week in a press conference that he would be interested in bringing the Oklahoma City Thunder guard to New York as a replacement for Mike Woodson, who was sacked following a disappointing campaign.
Fisher has not yet confirmed that he will retire, but hinted that he was not sure what his next decision would be after the Thunder were beaten in the Western Conference finals by the San Antonio Spurs.
The NBA have responded by handing Jackson a $25,000 (£14,900) fine due to a breach of their anti-tampering rules, which prevent teams from expressing an interest in impending free agents.
