NBA Commissioner in waiting Adam Silver has hinted that the current divisional setup in the league could be dropped.
Silver is expected to take over from David Stern on February 1, and has revealed that it could be time to move on from the divisions.
"The goal was to enhance rivalries and I'm not sure that's still what's happening and so that's something I'm sure the committee will be taking a fresh look at," he told Sirius XM NBA.
The move could see the regular season schedule changed, but it is understood that the committee could be open to the idea.
