San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker has revealed that he has started to enjoy what his journey as an NBA player means, with the point guard closing out his 17th season in the sport.
The 38-year-old has been in standout form for the Spurs against the Miami Heat in the playoff final series, averaging 17.7 points on nearly 65% shooting from the floor.
"I think in the last couple years I've really kind of taken a step back and stopped and enjoyed what the journey means," said Duncan, according to the official NBA website.
"I think, as it comes to a close on my career – and I know it is – I appreciate it more."
If Parker is able to help guide the Spurs to this season's championship, it would be his fifth NBA crown, with only 13 players in the sport's history having bettered that feat.
