BBBofC keen to avoid face off between Dillian Whyte, Dereck Chisora

The British Boxing Board of Control requests that Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora are kept apart ahead of their showdown in Manchester on December 10.

Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that the British Boxing Board of Control does not want Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora to go head to head before their fight on December 10.

After the first press conference to promote the British heavyweight title fight, tempers flared at the filming of Sky Sports' The Gloves Are Off programme, with leaked footage on social media showing the pair being held back by security.

It has resulted in the BBBofC looking to avoid further confrontation ahead of the clash at the Manchester Arena, but Hearn is still keen for both men to face off before their grudge match.

Hearn told Sky Sports News: "The board have requested that we do not have any further face-offs between Dillian and Dereck for safety reasons.

"I have spoken to them and I do feel it's important to have one for the fans' build-up and am working on ways to come up with the correct security measures that will satisfy the board."

The fight will also act as an eliminator for the WBC title.
