James DeGale says that he would "love" to fight IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch.

European super middleweight champion James DeGale has set his sights on a domestic dust-up with IBF titlist Carl Froch.

The 26-year-old defeated Fulgencio Zuniga on Saturday to make it four wins out of four since losing to great rival George Groves last year, picking up the WBC silver strap in the process.

DeGale, who won gold for Team GB at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, believes that it would "make sense" to fight Froch should he continue to improve.

"I'd love to fight Carl and for British boxing that would be a massive fight," Sky Sports News quote DeGale as saying. "If I can continue to progress and keep on winning, then it would make sense for us to fight.

"I think Carl would like a big domestic world title fight before he retires. He didn't get it against Joe Calzaghe, despite years of trying, and hopefully he could get one against me.

"He's the sort of fighter who will fight anyone, he likes big fights, and if I can win a world title, that would make it a big fight."

DeGale fights Mouhamed Ali Ndiaye in Kent on January 26.
