British lightweight Terry Flanagan has said that he expects to record an emphatic victory over Derry Mathews when they meet for the WBO title on Saturday night.
Flanagan is making the second defence of his belt against fellow North-West fighter Mathews, who is competing in his 50th bout in front of his home fans in Liverpool.
However, the Manchester-based puncher thinks that the all-British world title showdown will be one-sided as he looks to earn his 30th successive win.
The 26-year-old told BBC Sport: "I think Derry's kidding himself if he thinks he's going to beat me. I'm going to win by stoppage. I'll stop him but I think Derry will go out on his shield.
"I've beat him in his own backyard before in Prizefighter and I'm going to do it again."
Flanagan is hoping to face Anthony Crolla in a unification fight later in 2016, providing that WBA champion Crolla can beat Ismael Barroso on May 7.
