Carl Froch blasts George Groves behaviour

IBF and WBA super-middlweight champion Carl Froch hits out at George Groves's conduct since their world title bout in Manchester last month.

IBF and WBA super-middleweight champion Carl Froch has insisted that "he calls the shots" as George Groves continues to target a rematch of their controversial encounter in Manchester last month.

Groves is eager to face the Nottingham fighter for a second time after he was stopped inside nine rounds at the Phones4U Arena, but Froch has blasted the 25-year-old's lack of "respect and class" in the aftermath of their enthralling bout.

The 36-year-old told The Express: "There is a real stink of hypocrisy about this because George Groves has been telling anyone who would listen that I have a duty to fight him. Did Groves hand James DeGale a rematch when they fought a few years ago in a close one? I didn't hear Groves going on about duty back then.

"I'm very reluctant to hand Groves a pay-day, especially when he behaves like an idiot all the time. I don't like him as he has absolutely no respect, no class and is a spoilt kid.

"Of course he wants to fight me again as he wants to make a killing. But why should I? I'm the champion and that means I call the shots."

Froch's promoter Eddie Hearn recently spoke of his desire to make the rematch between the two British fighters.
