The WBA has announced that it has stripped British super-middleweight Carl Froch of his world title.
The 38-year-old hasn't defended the belt since his Wembley triumph over George Groves last May, leaving the WBA to declare the title vacant ahead of the bout between Fedor Chudinov and Felix Sturm this weekend.
However, the organisation has made Froch the mandatory challenger for the 'super' belt, providing that champion Andre Ward overcomes Paul Smith next month.
Froch, who vacated his IBF strap at the start of the year, has indicated that he may not fight again after a year out of the ring.
