Peter Fury: 'United Kingdom is favourite to stage rematch with Wladimir Klitschko'

The rematch between world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko could take place in the United Kingdom, according to trainer Peter Fury.

Peter Fury has indicated that the United Kingdom is favourite to stage the world heavyweight title rematch between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko.

After Fury recorded a surprise win over Klitschko in Dusseldorf in November, the respective camps have been locked in negotiations regarding a second bout, which Fury is contractually obligated to give Klitschko.

A number of venues have been rumoured to be in the running for the WBA and WBO title clash, but Peter - the trainer and uncle of Tyson - has suggested that Klitschko is prepared to travel to the United Kingdom.

Fury told Behind The Gloves: "July is looking favourite now and hopefully it will be in the UK. It all looks to be heading in the right direction. Mick Hennessy is working with Team Klitschko around the clock.

"The Klitschkos are happy to come to England provided it makes sense obviously so that is what they are working on and I fully expect an announcement in April."

Klitschko previously fought in England in 2000, scoring a stoppage win over Monte Barrett on the undercard of Lennox Lewis's victory over Francois Botha in London.
