George Groves has claimed that a third bout with Carl Froch could be on the cards because the WBA and IBF super-middleweight champion needs him to sell fights.
Froch beat his British counterpart courtesy of a controversial stoppage in 2013 and then floored him in their highly-anticipated rematch at Wembley in May.
The Cobra now has set his sights on a big Las Vegas payday, but there does not seem to be a great deal of interest in a potential fight with Julio Chavez Jr, and Groves believes that is because he brought the money to their rivalry.
"Carl Froch is not a pay-per-view fighter on his own in the UK," he told The Mirror. "He's involved in pay-per-view fights, but he needs a dance partner, someone who can sell it. The last two times, it's been me who has sold the pay-per-view, not Carl Froch. Carl Froch went into hiding, he didn't do any interviews, no-one knew he existed before the last fight.
"If he goes and fights Chavez, who is a middleweight with no title, he will get a fee, but it won't be pay-per-view in the UK because it will be four o'clock in the morning because it will be in Vegas. He's just hoping if he talks about it enough, people will get behind it. But no-one has, no-one is really that interested.
"If [James] DeGale had anything about him, he would be forcing the situation. He is the mandatory and a year ago, Carl Froch said he would not duck any mandatory, but that's exactly what he's doing now. Neither fighter is making it happen. They share the same promoter and he's not interested in it either. It's a strange situation. So there might just be another fight against Carl Froch."
Groves defeated Christopher Rebrasse in September in his first fight since the successive Froch losses.
