Amir Khan: 'Chris Algieri fight isn't set in stone'

British welterweight Amir Khan reveals that he isn't certain to face Chris Algieri on May 30, despite announcing the fight last week.

British welterweight Amir Khan has revealed that he has several options available to him for his return to the ring on May 30.

Last Thursday, Khan announced that he would face former light-welterweight world champion Chris Algieri, but the former Olympic silver medallist has admitted that a deal is yet to be signed ahead of his next fight.

The 28-year-old told The Sweet Science: "I made the video on YouTube because we thought the fight with Chris Algieri was a done deal.

"But I have been speaking with my team and there are some more options on the table. We could make an announcement in another couple of days. My opponent for May 30 has not been confirmed. Nothing has been agreed upon."

Khan has been linked with Adrien Broner, but a fight won't take place unless the American agrees to compete at 147lbs, while a huge domestic showdown with Kell Brook has been ruled out until 2016 at the earliest.
