Promoter Tom Loeffer has revealed that Gennady Golovkin is interested in moving up a weight class to face IBF and WBA super-middleweight champion Carl Froch.
Golovkin, the WBA middleweight title holder who is undefeated in 30 fights, is targeting a number of high-profile contests in 2015, and Loeffer has admitted that Froch is one of the names that is under consideration for next year.
Loeffer is quoted by Fightnews.com as saying: "I've reached out to Eddie Hearn and I said that Gennady will come to the United Kingdom to fight Carl Froch at 168lbs because he knows that he has a big numbers of supporters there."
The Kazakh boxer is scheduled to face Marco Antonio Rubio in California on Saturday night.
