Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg do not look like fighting any time soon, according to the Northern Irishman's manager Barry McGuigan.

Barry McGuigan has said that a super bantamweight showdown between EBU and Commonwealth champion Carl Frampton and British titlist Scott Quigg does not look likely to happen in the near future.

The unbeaten pair have been ranked in the upper echelons of top of the domestic pile for some time now and many have expressed an eagerness to see them meet inside the ring.

However, McGuigan has claimed that Quigg's camp are unwilling to do business and they are now looking elsewhere for the Northern Irishman's return that is expected to be in June.

"I think that [the Quigg fight] is further away than ever, quite honestly," the former WBA featherweight champion told Sky Sports News. "We want the fight, but it doesn't seem like they want it, so I think we have passed that. We are looking at other opponents and have a number of them in mind.

"We realised quite a while ago that wasn't going to happen and we went down the Commonwealth route. Then we won European, so as far as we are concerned we're past him.

"Having said that, I still respect the kid, he's a very nice lad. He's a very good fighter and he will be a tough enough fight when it comes around."

Frampton stopped Kiko Martinez in the ninth round of his last fight in February.
