Promoter Eddie Hearn has announced that Scott Quigg will defend his WBA super-bantamweight title against Kiko Martinez on July 18.
Quigg has been sidelined since November with a hand injury, but the 26-year-old will make his return in the summer in front of his home supporters at the Manchester Arena.
It had been hoped that a deal could be struck for Quigg to face IBF title holder Carl Frampton, but after negotiations between Matchroom Sport and Cyclone Promotions broke down, Hearn moved to reach an agreement with former world champion Martinez.
The Spaniard is known in Great Britain for his two defeats to Frampton, the first of which came by ninth-round stoppage in February 2013 before Frampton won his first world belt with a comfortable points triumph in September 2014.
It has also been announced that Anthony Joshua, who recorded his 12th professional win last weekend, will feature on the undercard.
