Curtis Woodhouse turns down Bradley Saunders fight

British light-welterweight champion Curtis Woodhouse rejects an offer, rumoured to be £50,000, to face unbeaten Bradley Saunders.

Light-welterweight Curtis Woodhouse has turned down an offer to defend his British title against Bradley Saunders.

Woodhouse indicated that he would retire from the sport after achieving his dream of claiming the British strap earlier this year, but he soon opted to continue his career.

The 33-year-old has received several offers to defend his belt from a number of fighters, with Richard Maynard, a media representative for Frank Warren, confirming that Woodhouse had been made an offer to face Saunders

Maynard told World Boxing News: "I can confirm that an offer was made to Curtis through the proper channel of his manager Dave Coldwell. This offer was from promoter to manager, and not made through social networks."

Woodhouse revealed on Twitter that he had rejected a "very good offer", with the former professional footballer indicating that he could announce details of his next bout within the next seven days.
