Former Prizefighter champion Rocky Fielding has stopped Carl Dilks to become English super middleweight champion in his native Liverpool.
Fielding started brightly against the more experienced Dilks, and landed consistently in the opening two rounds to open up a commanding lead.
Dilks tried to mount a comeback in the third, and attempted to rough up Fielding and impose his strength on the younger man, to no avail.
The 25-year-old piled on the pressure in the fifth round and his continued attack to the body finally told, with Dilks floored twice before the referee stepped in to stop the fight.
An impressive victory earned Fielding the first title of his professional career, improving the prospect's unbeaten record to 12-0 with his sixth stoppage victory.
