Kell Brook has retained his IBF welterweight title with a stoppage win over Frankie Gavin.
The Sheffield fighter had started to assert control in the contest before landing with a flurry of punches towards the end of the sixth round that left Gavin with no answer.
Gavin did a solid job of nullifying the threat of Brook during the early stages but, as the fight wore on, the defending champion began to dominate proceedings to leave his opponent with a mountain to climb on the scorecards.
The end came when the challenger was pinned against the ropes with Brook unloading at will, and the referee had no choice but to call an abrupt halt to the encounter.
Brook extends his unbeaten record to 35 fights, while Gavin suffered his second defeat in 24 outings.
