Team Scotland's Lewis Benson beaten by Bowyn Morgan

Scotland's Lewis Benson falls at the first hurdle against Bowyn Morgan of New Zealand in a split decision in the men's bantamweight tournament.

Team Scotland's first entrant in the men's welterweight boxing competition Lewis Benson has been edged out by Bowyn Morgan of New Zealand in a split decision.

The Kiwi fighter came out strongly and just edged the first round with more aggressive shots, but it was an even contest in the second round.

The first half of the third round went the way of Morgan, but Benson thought that he might have done enough in the final minute with a strong finish, although he was guilty of letting his guard down on a couple of instances.

In the end, two judges awarded the fight to the New Zealander and one to Benson, which meant that the Scot's Games ended at the first round.
