Wales boxer Sean McGoldrick has insisted that past achievements count for nothing as he attempts to win another gold medal at this summer's Commonwealth Games.
The 22-year-old picked up first prize in Dehli four years ago and is now just two fights away from making the final once more after beating Jackson Woods in his last-16 clash on Monday.
"He (Woods) is a very good fighter, he has been to the Olympics and stuff so yeah I knew it was going to be tough and I just gave it my all in there," he told Sports Mole.
"I had a bit of a slow first round and I knew that I needed to wake up and I had to dig really deep to get the win.
"Yeah [there is pressure] but 2010 is a different year, this is 2014 and I am fully focused on that. It doesn't matter about the past. I am fully focused on this year's competition, it is a tough weight category and I am going to give it my all every fight."
McGoldrick could meet the much-fancied Michael Conlan in the semi-finals.
