Century knock pleases Australia's Aaron Finch

Australian batsman Aaron Finch reflects on his "surreal" century during the World Cup opener against England.

Aaron Finch has described the century that he scored during Australia's World Cup opener against England earlier today as "surreal".

The 28-year-old was dropped by Chris Woakes in the first over and he went on to make the most of that reprieve by scoring 135 runs.

Speaking after his nation's 111-run victory, Finch said: "It was nice and a little bit surreal. It hasn't quite sunk it yet, but it's great to get a win first up.

"It's nice to get the first game out of the way and get under way here. After being dropped first ball, I just tried to put it out of my mind and play my natural game.

"It's great feeling to get this first win out of the way and hopefully we can take that momentum forward for the rest of the tournament."

Next up for the hosting Aussie is a clash against Bangladesh a week today.
