Australia batsman David Warner has insisted that he will try to be a "mature adult" following months plagued with disciplinary issues.

The 26-year-old's latest punishment is a one-match suspended ban issued earlier this week for missing a grade game to watch horse racing.

"There's always going to be ups and downs in your life but it's probably been a pretty bad six months for myself," BBC Sport quotes Warner as saying.

"Now it's about moving forward and getting on with cricket and trying to be a mature adult."

The 26-year-old was dropped from a Champions Trophy match for the Aussies during the summer for punching England's Joe Root in a bar.
